Conversation hearts.  They may be described as colorful, sweet, sugary confections with charming messages of undying love printed on them. Things like PUPPY LOVE, SWEET PEA, ME + YOU, FIRST KISS, HUG ME, and XOXO.

Some people really love them, and some people, meh, not so much.
